Since its inception, the country of France has been synonymous with racing, and in such fashion, has produced some of the greatest drivers of all time. Among that heavy list, however, none is more revered, respected and accomplished then Alain Prost.
Prost is a four-time Formula One Drivers Champion, second only to Michael Schumacher, who will likely make an appearance later on this list. From 1987 until 2001, Prost held the record for most Grand Prix victories. In 1999, Prost received the World Sports Awards of the Century in the motor sport category.
Prost is most famous for his smooth, relaxed style whenever he was behind the wheel. Nicknamed “The Professor” for his intellectual approach to competition and driving, Prost is notorious for conserving his brakes and tires early on in the race; so as to leave them fresher at a later point.
