Ford GT Named Official Car Of CES

Taking place in Las Vegas, Nevada, the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) has chosen its official vehicle, and it seems that the Ford GT is their car of choice. Chosen by CES’ organizer, the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), Ford will be kicking off the event’s media day on January 5, 2016. Topics they will cover? Ford will go over its holistic approach when developing services and products that are aimed to enhance their client’s lives. CES will then be open to the public from January 6th to the 9th.

Ford was the first auto manufacturer to step up, and fully support the CES nine years ago, back in 2007. It was then that Microsoft head honcho, Bill Gates and then Ford chairman Alan Mulally introduced the Sync at the North American International Auto Show, which took place in Detroit.

Mark Fields, president and CEO, Ford, notes that the company is happy to continue their legacy of innovation through the CES 2016 show. As Ford moves forward with its Smart Mobility Plan, Fields believes that CES is the perfect event for sharing news when it comes to the company’s efforts to change the way the world moves, and offer creative new solutions in the fields of autonomous cars, connectivity, mobility, as well as the client experience as it relates to analytics and data.

A natural fit for an electronics show, Raj Nair, Global Product Development, Ford notes that the Ford GT’s technologies and innovation is also applied across the company’s future product collection; even more proof that Ford is dedicated to raising the bar when it comes to performance and continually looking to improve its cars, for all clients.

Some of the Ford GT’s technological features includes a steering wheel that encompasses all driver controls, and a fully configurable and digital front display.
