Price Tag Doubles For Fast & Furious VW Jetta

Almost three years ago, the Volkswagen Jetta profiled in the first Fast & Furious movie, hit the $42,000 mark while being auctioned at Barrett-Jackson. Prior to that, actor Frankie Muniz owned the vehicle; however, no one knew the whereabouts of the Jetta since 2016, until it was placed on sale via Luxury Auto Collection recently in Scottsdale, AZ, with a price tag of $99,900.

Undeniably one of the most legendary cars from the F&F franchise, with a 2.0-litre engine (stock turbocharged) sitting under the hood, along with a 4-speed auto transmission, it’s a beautiful car both inside and out. Looking at the interior of the iconic vehicle, and car enthusiasts will remember a golden era around import tuning, with all the good stuff included. The steering wheel is a Sparco, along with semi-bucket racing seats, and NOS buttons; the vehicle is truly one that celebrates the race car driver inside of anyone. Add in an Alpine head unit, along with a screen that flips up and an Audiovox cell phone, and you are literally in auto heaven.

Speaking of, taking a peek inside the trunk, and you’ll see a full-on Alpine audio system, with a nitrous tank to boot. It’s most likely empty, so if you do purchase the Jetta, ensure to grab a fill up before heading home.

Motor 1 reported that when it comes to auto enthusiasts, the Fast & Furious franchise is like pop culture auto history, with the first movie being the most iconic. This is why it’s no surprise that Jesse’s Jetta has been bought and sold so many times, and keeps going up and up in price. According to reports, the vehicle itself hasn’t changed all too much; however, having said that, is it really worth close to six digits in price?

Depends on how much a fan you are of Fast & Furious, and how much of a fan you are of legendary movie cars.
