The folks within the Oneida area got quite a lovely evening of truck filled fun! The Glenwood Plaza held a night ideal for families in mind with their “Touch a Truck” event. The event is pretty self-explanatory, as it allows visitors to come to the location and explore various types of trucks. You can imagine the excitement of the little ones waiting around to get their chance at playing around on tons of super cool trucks!

The event is also informative with operators of each vehicle hanging about the trucks to answer questions from visitors, as well as be an informative resource for the curious children around. Kids got to climb through the trucks of their choice, and all whilst a DJ was jamming away throughout the venue to make it even more fun!

To give you an idea of what types of trucks you can find at a “Touch a Truck” event, the popular ones that children flocked to were- firetrucks, dump trucks, ambulances, backhoes, trash collecting trucks, and even a massive tractor trailer. There were over 20 different makes of trucks available, and they even provided a live helicopter landing at the event for the spectators to really have something to talk about. The local businesses also took part in the venue, providing lots of food, gifts for sale, and specialty items as well as advertising their services to the community.

According to the original story, reported by the folks at Oneida Dispatch, the local residents got the idea of holding the truck fair from seeing one advertised elsewhere, then decided to create one for their own neck of the woods. You can presume with the success of this one, there will most likely be lots more Touch a Truck shows coming to your area!
