The 2018 Toyota Tundra is likely to receive both mechanical and cosmetic updates over previous models, beginning with the addition of the 300 horsepower producing 5.0 liter Cummins turbo-diesel V8 engine. Furthermore, the Tundra will be outfitted with an eight-speed transmission instead of the current six-speed, and an improved oil burner. Combined, this will greatly improve the Tundra’s fuel efficiency, which has been disappointing in the past. The towing capacity will also be increased to rival competitor models. On the design spectrum, front-end changes are expected to include a more stylized grill and headlight cluster, while the interior will only receive minor updates.
